 Smart Tune was set up in 1998 by Dave Hughes and his wife Karen. Dave was a Rolls Royce and Bentley engineer, who became fascinated by the Smart concept.
Following the purchase of his first Smart Car shortly thereafter, he soon realised the potential for tuning and after market accessories. He developed some unique improvements, such as the spin-on oil filter conversion kit and the draining sump, and convinced other companies to tool up for tuning options and other accessories.
 Customers soon began bringing their cars to Smart Tune for servicing and repairs. One customer had his car specially prepared by Dave, and then successfully took part in the London to Sahara Rally!
Our many regular customers will already know that Dave tragically passed away in October 2005. The workshop was unfortunately shut down, but the sales side of the business is now owned and run by Nikky and Mike Fox. We have a hard act to follow, but have already expanded our customer base and now sell more genuine Smart parts than any other single retailer or dealer in the UK.
 Our new website displays many more products than our previous site, but we are always open to suggestions for products to make Smart ownership more enjoyable!
