Fortwo 450 (1998 - 2007) & Roadster Mercedes Recommended Service Intervals (599cc & 698cc)
- 1st service A at 9,000 miles or 1 year (which ever sooner)
- 2nd service B at 18,000 miles or 2 years (which ever sooner)
- 3rd service A at 27,000 miles or 3 years (which ever sooner)
- 4th service C at 36,000 miles or 4 years (which ever sooner) and so forth..

Service Inspection 'A'
- Engine oil and oil filter change.
Also should check:
- Lights and indicators. Wipers. Battery fluid level.
- Condition of tyres and wheels. Tyre pressures.
- Windscreen washer fluid level. Brake fluid level. Engine for leaks. Transmission oil level.
- Condition and tension of V-belt. Coolant level. Antifreeze concentration in coolant

Service inspection 'B'
- Engine Oil & oil filter change
- Replace air filter
- Replace spark plugs (petrol only)
- Replace key batteries
- Tighten wheels to correct torque
- Check tyre pressures
- Replace diesel filter (if applicable)
- Replace alternator belt (diesel only)
- Replace air con belt (diesel only)
Also should check:
- Inspect brake lines. Lights and indicators. Wipers.
- Expiry date on tyre sealer. Battery fluid level.
- Condition of tyres and wheels. Tyre pressures.
- Windscreen washer fluid. Brake fluid level. Engine for leaks.
- Exhaust does not leak and isn't loose. Transmission oil and look for leaks.
- Condition and tension of V-belt. Coolant level. Antifreeze concentration in coolant.
- Amount of travel in handbrake. Brake pads for wear. Brake discs.
- Brake fluid should be changed every 20,000 miles.

Service inspection 'C'
- Engine oil and oil filter change
- Replace air filter
- Replace fuel filter
- Replace spark plugs (petrol only)
- Replace key batteries
- Tighten wheels to correct torque
- Check tyre pressures
- Replace diesel filter (if applicable)
- Replace alternator belt (diesel only)
- Replace air con belt (diesel only)
Also should check:
- Brake lines. Bulbs. Wipers. Expiry date on tyre sealer. Battery fluid level.
- Condition of tyres and wheels. Tyre pressures.
- Windscreen washer fluid. Brake fluid level. Engine for leaks.
- Transmission oil and look for leaks. Condition and tension of V-belt.
- Coolant level. Antifreeze concentration in coolant.
- Rubber bearings and joints for damage.
- Amount of travel in handbrake
- Brake pads for wear. Brake discs. Brake drums.

Additional Maintenance.
Every 36,000 miles....
- Check Drum brake thickness
- Replace V-belts
- Replace Fuel filter (diesel engine)
- Change Engine coolant (petrol engines)
- Recommended Every 75,000 miles.
- Change the timing chain
