Smart Fortwo and Forfour ignition barrel solenoid.
Small metal box with blue insulating tape that attaches to the ignition barrel. It has an electrical connection that creates magnetism that locks the key in place - sometimes too securely!
These are becoming a common problem, the unit fails and traps the key in the ignition.
Number 185 in the diagram.
Compatible with all models of smart 453 fortwo and forfour from 2015.. Same part number for all models.
